This is where we left off yesterday.
See those boards nailed to the sides?
There used to be more.
Well, there was a reason they were there.
We found that out as soon as we took them off.
This table was a tad rickety.
So we added some brackets,
So we added some brackets,
underneath.
What's that groove for?
And why
were the ends of so many of those boards cut like that?
(Clearly, I need a bigger basket. A white one, with a cute fabric liner which coordinates with the table color.)
I decided to go with this color, mostly because I already had the paint. Plus, it was going in a gray room. So painting it gray might have been overkill.
(I bought a quart of this color to try on our living room walls. And in that room, this color was a blindingly bright turquoise. I'm talking a sort of my-retinas-are-about-to-explode kind of bright. But on this table, it's a really mellow aqua~sea foam kind of color. Go figure.)
This table (table B) is going in the same room as the other one (table A), and while I didn't want them to be twins, exactly, I did want them to get along. That's why I stained the top dark like table A.
Which I think is really pretty.
Which I think is really pretty.
With the right casters, wouldn't this make a great kitchen island? If only my kitchen were big enough.
It would also make a great bedside table.
It's small enough to go in a bathroom, too.
For now, it's going to hold my Cricut.
AND A BASKET!
(a white one with a nicely coordinating fabric liner. I think I might have to sew something.)

Looks Great Suzanne! Love the color!
love the saw tooth marks on the top!
we had our kitchen table made from planks that were inside our lath and plaster walls (used for studs) and our carpenter purposely left the rustic finish, nail holes and all!

That turned out so great! The darker top looks really good with that aqua color. So glad you figured out the shelf because that made it even cuter!

I love it! I had said that I would go with a white top, but I really like what you've done with the dark stain... and that shelf on the bottom is so cool!
