An honest to goodness old fashioned barn like the one I showed you here?
For the hayloft.
So we could do this.

Can you imagine the sleep over parties my future grandchildren could have in spaces like these?
(I want a lot of grandkids. The more the merrier!)
I think it would be a blast!
I can see it all in my head.
My imaginary barn.
A row of built in bunk beds on either side of the hayloft, and instead of a hayloft door on the far wall, a HUGE window. Maybe even swings in the middle of the loft.
And a staircase on the other end leading downstairs.
I sometimes go rustic, or refined, or cottage~it's my imaginary barn!

I love these white ones. Great for an imaginary barn, but probably not the best color for bedding in a real barn.
This nautical room looks like there might be trundle beds under the bottom bunk. More room for more kids! Very handy.
And then in the morning I'd cook them breakfast in a kitchen like this, one that we use mostly for family reunions and parties, downstairs in my imaginary barn.
So that's the real reason I want a barn. So that it could all be real, and not imaginary.
Sure, I could do all that in a house.
But doesn't it just sound more fun in a barn?
Sure, I could do all that in a house.
But doesn't it just sound more fun in a barn?
Maybe some day I'll tell you the real reason why I want a front porch.
Thanks for reading!

WHEN you get that barn, I call first dibs on being your first bloggy house (or barn) guest! With all them beds, there's plenty of room for a fam of 5. :•)
ha! I have the SAME dream! Sometimes instead of bunks I have lines and lines of twin beds all set out dormitory style....doesn't that sound lovely too? It will be a LONG time til grandkids are both my kiddos are under 10! But I'm a planner i guess! Happy Thursday girlie!

oh so dreamy! and i'm with Yanet.. a bloggy pal filled slumber party.. woot woot!! :P
I'm enjoying the reflected glow of all the real love in that make believe space. But now my curiosity has moved over to the secret about the front porch. Hmmm!
I hear ya! Our rebuilt barn will be getting is 2nd floor this year... but the "lofted" 3rd area is where I'm planning to have a guest "nook" complete with old metal beds! I'm planning for those someday grandbabies too :)

OMG, I love this! Would love to have beds like that for my son & his friends to sleep over.
I love this. Think of how the grandkids would beg to be able to host sleepovers, and all the family reunions you could host! I don't think my grandkids would ever leave if I had something like this!
Oh, how cool! I would love hanging out in those spaces! And I'm drooling over that kitchen!
Ohhh...I love barn "houses" too. We almost did one back in th4e 70's...but figured it was so far out of our budget that we would never get it finished. By today's standards it was not all that much!
I imagine you want a front porch for sitting and spitting...or maybe to store bushels of beets? Just sayin.... Hugs-Diana
Sigh. I've always wanted a barn house. I'll spend the rest of the day dreaming :)
This is so funny ~ when I saw the third photo down my eyes popped open! We own an interior trim contracting business and we built those exact same bunk beds in a house last year. I even have photos of them.
Oh great now I want a barn.
AMAZING. Like a dream come true!
I'll be your farm hand anyday!
ok those pictures are amazing!! i want it too! lol
yes yes yes!!! i dream of owning a home with those adorable cubbies for sleeping!
Can I substitute for your grandkids? You know, until you get real ones. I'd love to stay in a space like those. You choose, I won't be fussy.
Oh man, can I come stay in your barn. I want to sleep in a bunk bed and be served breakfast in that kitchen. It sounds like a blast.

Those are all beautiful! I love the built in bunk beds! I wonder if I could convince my "builder" (AKA Daddy) to do that for me when/if Baby #3 comes along. With a 3 bedroom house, two of the kids will have to share a room.
I have a barn and now I want to make it look like those! I don't even care which one, they are all fabulous! Theresa xoxo
Forget grandkids, I want to sleep there! But where would all my junk go? hmmm, in the house!
Hi Suzanne...how did I miss this post..what a wonderful dream..and in color as well..love it!
