When most of your kids are in college, the Easter eggs are going to look
less like Easter Eggs
and more like a cartoon you might see on iwastesomuchtime.com. No bunnies, no flower stickers, no pastel stripes. Just cranky guys with curly hair and a sleepy Amish dude.
I'm not a huge egg fan, but I do like deviled eggs. This is a really fast and really good recipe involving
Ranch Dressing.
(Actually, it's so simple I don't know if you can call it a recipe.)
So once you've cut your eggs in half and scooped out the yolk, start blending them up. I use a pastry cutter. Add enough dressing to make a paste the consistency of tooth paste.
Add a few slices of crumbled up crisp bacon and mix well. Add salt and pepper to taste.
If you don't have a pastry bag, just snip the end off of a ziplock bag and use it. Make the hole a little on the larger side so that bacon won't clog up the works. Fill the egg whites.
Garnish with fresh snipped chives in you want.

Oh, yum! I love deviled eggs, and I think this will be a welcome change of pace!
Loving the cranky faces! Did you have somebody "special" in mind when you created them? Hehehe....
I am going to try this. I have always used mayo. I'll bet this is delicious and adds just a bit more flavor. I always toss a bit of hot dog relish in the ones I make. I may give these a try this weekend- xo Diana
No way! I made mine the same way this year :) First time ever!! Everyone loved the bacon and hint of ranch. Great minds think alike ;)
