Add or Subtract?

So I think I told you I'm doing the decorating for a Christmas dinner next week.
300 people (approximately) and the budget is $75. (approximately. If I go over, what will they do, fire me?)
So I thought pinecones and greenery. They're free. And antlers. If you can find enough people who will lend you some of theirs, those are also free.
But here's the problem. I don't like it. Do I add more, or take away some of it? I think it needs more greenery (which will be real for the dinner) and maybe just less of everything else. I probably won't use the candles since we can't light them. No open flames in the building.
And just for fun, I saw those tire track hearts in our neighbor's driveway this morning. It made me smile and sigh at the same time, and I wanted to show them to you before the snow melted. I thought it was such a cute gesture, and I'd never seen that done before.

Thanks for reading!

what if you keep it really simple with just the pinecones and antlers and then a few red balls for color and shine? no greenery at all?

I'm of no help whatsoever. I've never figured out a centerpiece for our own dining table that I like!

Well, melt my heart. Frame that photo and give it to your neighbors for Christmas.

you could add more natural elements to the greenery and pinecones such as cranberries and oranges studded with cloves. Mason jars filled with epsom salts (for snow) and cranberries illuminated with a battery votive would look pretty. Budget friendly too!

My opinion...take out the largest pinecone and only use a few smaller pinecones without the distracting white on them? If you burn the candles down far enough in advance you can us a battery operated tea light inserted into the space where the wax burned out!
What ever you decide it will be beatiful! It always is!

I love it just the way it is! If I would walk in and see that I would think it's beautiful! Don't stress yourself about it, it's just right:)
Love those tracks in the snow♥

I agree with Divine Theatre. I'd take the large pinecone out as well, though I love it, I think it's too big.

If you're using real greenery then I don't think the snow pinecones will be distracting.

I also think battery powered candles would look so pretty & I'd add some larger Christmas ornaments, maybe three large & five small in each arrangement?

It is beautiful & I think just taking the large pinecone out would be very pretty too if your feeling stressed with it.

The Hearts in the snow are sweet. It sure was fun having a lit bit of snow over the weekend.
So I think your centerpiece is beautiful. Of corse you already know I love the antlers... do you think you can come up with a lot of them?
I also think some jars with a battery light and filled with fake snow or cranberries would look festive and give it some more heigth.
Hope you have a great party!

Im back. I just saw that My Sweet Savannah had a pretty tablescape using antlers and pinecones, You may want to take a look and see if it inspires you at all :)
But I do think your centerpiece is pretty.

I really like it- if I did anything to it -well, I am not crazy about the big pine cone but I love all the smaller ones. I do like the candles in there. I just found a pack of those little battery powered votive (like you stick inside a candle or votive)..they were in a pack at Big Lots and there were 20 for $4. Even those would be cute to drop down into a jar or something to give a bit of light to the table. Don't stress about it though because what you have done is better than most of us could do...especially on that kind of budget for that many people- xo Diana

I like it! I'm assuming when you use real greens that it won't have any white on it so I think that will be a better contrast against the white cloth. How many tables are you have to make centerpieces for? If you want more color you could wind some of that red berry garland around it too. The thin stuff. Michaels has it all on sale.

I have a bag of red and gold "big" ornaments if you want to use them... just have someone pick them up...and make sure they say they are from Meridian Road... and you can get them back to me after the holidays...

I love the real greenery, with berries, citrus slices maybe, cinnamon sticks and maybe a few red Christmas balls for pop.

I love that photo from the neighbors driveway!!
