I don't need one, and I don't really have room for a big one, but someday I would like an authentic antique dough bowl.
Like this one which sold on Etsy just a few weeks ago.
And next time I find one and have a hundred (or more)clams in my pocket that don't need to go someplace else, I'll buy one.
But until then, this really cheap thrift store model will have to do.
(I did NOT pay 12 clams for this one. Not 8, either. There were a lot of numbers scribbled on this thing. I couldn't figure that one out.)
It's a pretty bad imitation, actually. BUT!
A little sanding
OK~a lot of sanding
some Danish Oil
and some stain

I am looking for one of those as well, you made it look like you spent a lot of Clams on it..well done..the pinecones make it all look worthwhile!
I love a good impostor! It looks good to me! xo Diana
It does indeed!
I like it!! Those things are sssooooo expensive..I would love one too!!
Looks good to me! Old trenchers are some of my favorites too! Good find.
It looks great Suzannne! You are so great at seeing the end result! I also LOVED your paint dipped pine cones.
I don't think it's a bad imitation at all, in fact anyone that came to my house wouldn't even know the difference. Plus they would think I was nuts to pay lots of clams for one.

You know sometimes I have to have the real MCoy and sometimes a really good fake works! What u have my friend is a really good fake.
Suzanne--love your dough bowl. :)
you did a fabulous job on it. While I was visiting San Diego last summer, my friend stephanie was looking for one. I had never really paid any attention to them before that. Yours looks great with your pine cones.

I've always loved these too. My sister has a huge one. I think you have a pretty good impostor! I love the pool balls in it.
