What's Next?

I think we all know what the color of the year is.
Turquoise.
And every shade thereof.
(Just don't call it teal~it triggers flashbacks of hair like this)

 Anyway. I digress.
I love turquoise. And every shade thereof.
I have it in 4 rooms in my house.
I hope it never goes out of style.
But that's not very realistic.
There isn't much that stays in style forever.
So I've been wondering~what will be the next color of the year?

I've been seeing a lot of this color lately.
I'm not so sure
that this is a color
 I could really get behind.

What do you think will be the next color of the year?

I'm going to be taking a long 4 day weekend~so I'll see you Tuesday!

I'm not sure I could handle that bright of a green shade either! Particularly in large doses like that!

I love turquoise and all the different shades of turquoise I've been seeing in craft world. As for that green????

I feel like it screams at me like a drill sergeant..."hurry up maria hurry hurry, RUN!".

hmmm, maybe I'll secretly put it on my husband's golf bag, so instead of waiting for him to get home from golf 'till twelve noon, for us to go out, he'll be home at ten???

I love turquoise too... I just did a blog makeover with a touch on turquoise. Anyhow... as for color of the year... I am never good at predictions! Happy weekend. :) BTW love where you blog!

I've been wondering the same thing. I'm finally happy with the mood I've got going here...
Oh, well. I was never one at the very front of a new trend. I'll be happy with my turquoise for a while...even when it's yesterday's color. (until I get bored, of course:)

Ha! Ha! The green in the first photograph is the color of my laundry room! There's a sneak peak pic in this post.

Morning Suzanne....!

I LOVE turquoise though don't use it as I'm a fire engine red / green girl....I LOVE the green in the pics you've shown but wouldn't want a lot of it....Just one big POP like the wardrobe I have in my living area....!!

Cheers,
Tamarah :o)

I'm anxious to see all the new colors and styles at this fall's furniture and accessory market in High Point. Last fall, turquoise was not a big color there- the companies and designers showed some, but it wasn't overly huge. Will let you know what I see next month. I loved all the orange and green that they showed last year. It's still around in a lot of accessories.

Hey, I thought animal prints would be long gone by now, they still can be found anywhere and still cute.

Enjoy your long weekend! I hope whatever color is in next year is what I have now because I'm not repainting walls anytime soon :)

Oops! I accidentally deleted.

I love turquoise, but I just know at some point people will be scrunching their faces at it the way we did the avocado green & orange in the 70's and pastels in the 80's (what was the 90's again?). So, I tend to stay away from trends and just go for timeless. And the kelly green will be no exception!

Okay-Seriously...that green was what my husband's grandmother had in her 1960's house in FL. It was so chic then! I think it is just a little too vibrant for my taste. She had some beautiful custom made pieces that were gorgeous in their time. I am much more of a "light-toned" person...it's what I feel comfortable with but it is always fun to see the color in other people's homes! Diana

I was just thinking about this yesterday. Wondering if I pick yet another shade of blue/aqua/turquoise for the bath if I'd regret it. I don't think so.

Glad to her you are taking a break this weekend. I am too. I think we all should. That way I won't have a hard time catching up when I get back. Have fun!

I love the turquoise too. My 2011 trend projection...mustard yellows, golds

i have loved turquoise my entire life. I don't know that i will ever give up on it. While I appreciate that rich green, i could never live with it in my house - at least not on the walls. Maybe a piece of furniture...maybe... :) Yeah, I wonder if we will scrunch our noses at turquoise in 20 or 30 years. If it goes away, it will eventually be chic again though. I am seeing so much gray lately. I think that's a hot color right now. As for the future, I've never been a trendsetter, so I have no clue. I am guessing jewel tones though.

I also love all things turquoise! It's the color of my apartment. I just feel like it's so classic. You're right about that green though, I've been seeing it a lot lately. I'm predicting the new colors will be something we've seen before, but with a modern take, like more yellow-golds and metallic finishes. We'll see!

Love the Eighties do! Turquoise is lovely and I'm still trying to figure out where to put it in my home. Alas...I really need to repaint every room in more subtle shades, hints of turquoise would be divine...

I'll tell hubby that you suggested I redo the whole house!

See you inspire me!

I L.O.V.E that green! Even if it is a little "city of OZ" :) Then again I am a fan of over-the-top color!
