Things Just Have a Way of Working Out

I had another post ready to go for today, but for some reason I kept feeling like I should post something else, and this is it.
My father in law always used to tell me that time fixes everything, and that things have a way of working out.
(He was an awesome guy, and I really miss him.)
As I get older, I can see that things really do have a way of working out.
In big ways and in small ways.
For instance, this tablecloth.
I got it at an estate sale. I didn't have a place for it, but I thought it was really pretty. I love the crocheted lace on the ends.
See how perfectly it fits the table?
I got the table a full year and a half after I bought the tablecloth.
It fits like it was made for it.
And these drawers.
I was a little bummed that the drawer pulls didn't match. Then my brother, who gave me the drawers, wrote and asked if I wanted to trade the silver pulls for some of his brass ones.
(um, YEAH!)
And Friday, I took this girl
to tour a university wants to attend this fall, only to find out that the department she was interested in was already full. But the right admission counselor had the right answer for her. She's going to take a semester of business classes, then start her program next spring. Since her goal is to own her own business, it's a perfect solution. She's actually excited about the accounting classes.
And then after a disappointment this weekend, I was feeling kind of low.
Discouraged and really down.
And you know what?
I've won three giveaways this week!
It didn't fix the disappointing situation, but I sure felt a heck of a lot cheerier.

So anyway. I'm kind of rambling. But I do believe that we all have someone looking out for us. I know I do.
Sometimes it's like things just fall into my lap and the feeling that there's someone (I believe it's God) pulling strings for me is hard to deny.
I just believe that things have a way of working out.
And I'm grateful for all of it~the big things and the small things.

Have a great day!

Ohh, I hear ya! I too have had things "falling in my lap" lately. Around these parts we have a saying-"coincidence? I think NOT" which means that everything happens for a reason, which I too believe it's God!
congrats on the wins, the tablecloth is beautiful, and yay for plans working out with classes! oh, and the handles too! wooohoooo!

I was just talking about this the other day. Sometimes when you are looking at one small thing it may not seem like it, but if you take a step back and look at the whole picture you may see that everything fell into place as if it was meant to be! Sorry to hear you were down but happy to hear you're winning giveaways like crazy!

Great post, Suzanne! It's funny how we don't always see things until we're looking back. Somehow, the pieces all fit and everything works out. It's not always easy to remember that when you're in a low. I guess that's why God's the one in charge :) So glad to hear about your "sunshine" this week...winning giveaways is a great way to make a girl smile! I'm happy things are working out for your daughter, too.

You won 3 more? Look at you go! I do know what you mean about thinking falling into place. That's always a good feeling. I'm waiting for it to happen around here ;)

How true Suzanne, I'm so glad the classes worked out so happy for your daughter! That tablecloth reminds me of the runner I got for a 1.00 at a estate sale last summer.
Everything happens for a reason and those can be disappointing and sometimes heartbreaking bu t when we step back and look at the situation we then realized that thur everything we have come closer to Him.
Have a wonderful day♥

I'm a huge believer that things happen for a reason. Even though we don't always see the reason at the moment, at some point we will. And if we don't, then were just going to have to accept the fact that we don't control our lives, God does. My third child is living proof.

Congrats on the giveaways, Suzanne. Glad they made you smile.

This is so true! Everything happens for a reason. Sometimes it's damn hard to see what on earth the reason could be- but sure enough, it'll pop up.

I have a small sign I picked up years ago that says "Things happen for a reason - Just believe." I totally agree with it. There have been way to many things, big and small, that have happened in my life that I don't "get" at the time, that turned out to be the best thing for me.

Congrats on the giveaways, and great news for your daughter!

Right on as usual Suzanne. Congratulations on your "lucky" streak.
You brightened up my day, I was as one blogger put it "pondering instead of doing" today. I was not happy with myself. Sometimes you just gotta go with the flow...

Suzanne- I am sorry there were disappointments in the week for you...but you are right~there were a goodly amount of blessings just never know, on any given day, where the sun will find you and shine warm upon your face. This was a perfect post for me today too...I needed to hear it...maybe that is why you were guided to write it! Hugs- Diana
