Stuff's Happening!

This was supposed to happen weeks ago.
We started to think it would never happen. We were coming up with plan B, and plan C. We thought about scrapping the whole project entirely.
But the evil  extremely thorough building permit lady has been crushed, decimated, completely defeated proven wrong.(can I say that again? WRONGWRONGWRONG!Yes, we had some problems. There might still be some problems if she's still feeling all petty and  bureaucracy-ish. But she was wrong. Wrongwrongwrongitywrongwrong! However, the official story is that there was a misunderstanding.)
  And now we are getting
 a front porch!!!

(The building process could very possibly and very abruptly interrupt my internet service. If I disappear, there is no need to contact the FBI. I'll be fine. Probably going through blog withdrawal, but fine. Also, I do realize I just showed you all pictures of dirt. And heavy machinery. But I'm so excited!)

Have a spectacular weekend, and thanks for reading!

What a great post... projects don't always go as smoothly as we would like and your happy ending was such a surprise!! I love front porches... can't wait to see yours!

Speaking from experience, it's wise to stay on good terms with the building permit folks, even though they can really add on to the time and cost involved in a project. Just wait for the inspections!

Your porch, though, is going to be wonderful. Congratulations on breaking ground.
