This and That

I wanted something fresh looking and springy, so I changed
this display up a little.
This feels a lot less heavy to me.

I just used things I already had. I think I'll keep it like this for awhile.

I(and by "I", I really mean my guys) got the table out of the shed. It was a big job, since it was in the very back.
It's definitely worth saving. It won't take much to straighten out those legs. I want to leave some of the paint on the top for a really distressed look, and then stain it. I'll leave the legs and the apron like they are. My son isn't so sure about my plan. He of little faith. (But it's going in his room, so if he hates it when I'm done, I'll re-do it. I'm counting on him liking it.)
Guess what else?
My Chinese forget-me-nots (the ones I yelled at) are starting to bloom. On the windowsill. (Perhaps I should plant them. If it would stop freezing at night, I would consider that.) The funny thing is
this is the only pot that's blooming. Yelling at your plants does work!

I'll be gone the next few days. I'll be watching this girl
and her doubles partner play at the state tournament. (I was told today that the next two days are the days I won't have internet access anyway. Good timing!)

Wish them luck!

I love the new look! I've been bringing more white in, too. It feels lighter and cooler. (even though we've had plenty of "cool" rain lately) It's a fresh look, anyway :)
Good luck with the tennis tournament! Enjoy your time offline! ;)

Good luck to the tennis duo!

I like the new look... the extra white makes a huge difference.

I think I have the same table as the one you're sprucing up... it was in our chicken coop when we moved here and my husband moved it into the garage to hold his miter saw. After seeing this, I may need to do a little swapping or outright stealing :)

Have fun, Suzanne! Love the chalk board lamp shade, not seen that item done in chalk board paint. The vignette looks wonderful, and can't wait to see the end result on the table. xxx

That table looks just like the one I use for a kitchen island. Wow! The display does look lighter and more springy. Good luck to your daughter in her tournament!!!

You new arrangement looks great. Light and bright. And look how cute that lamp looks there!

I will take that table if your son hates it. I'm not fussy.

Are you yelling at the forget me nots in Chinese? Because, you know, they might not understand you.

Suzanne, I just found your blog (from searching for a chicken cage coffee table) and I'm so happy to find someone in Idaho (I live in Hidden Springs) who loves the same things I do. We just bought 15 acres just up the road and will be building a barn home once we sell ours. I'll be watching your blog to see what ideas you can help me with!

I do wish them luck! You have been so busy--I think your table will turn out great. Wish I could find furniture in my garage. Just the recycling bucket. Love your pretty change-up for spring. You have a wonderful sense of style for layering. And I just adore those pretty little flowers on your window ledge. How sweet!

Love the table! I wish I could scrounge around some farms and ranches--we lived on a ranch in Garden Valley (yes, Idaho) and I weep over the cool stuff we left behind or hauled to the dump when we thought it was just all junk.
