I Want A Barn Door

Wouldn't this door look great as a sliding barn style door? It's kind of got that look anyway. It just needs to slide.
It's easy to find lots of great examples of barn style doors used as interior doors.
But none of them have windows in them.

Why do you think that is?

Do you think it's a safety concern?

Or do most people just not want windows in their doors?
(definitely not for bathrooms! But for a dining room? Why not?)

I'd love to use that first door as a sliding door. I wonder if they'd sell it to me.

Thanks for reading!

It doesn't hurt to ask. You never know what someone else might be willing to part with. I'd love a sliding barn door for my master bathroom. It would free up so much floor space in the room if I didn't have to accomodate the door swing. Terrific images! Thanks for sharing.

I really like the first one that leads into a bathroom! The doors are great, and at your first mention of a window in one, I thought of a dining room! The majority of the doors probably don't have windows because they lead to "private" spaces, like bathrooms or bedrooms.

OK, now you made me want one, too.

That would be a great door for a teenage boy who keeps knocking holes and trying to nail things into his paperthin doors...

I want one for my kitchen! BUT I looked at the prices for the hardware. EXPENSIVE!
I think a door with windows would be awesome!

I want one too. I have two places in my house where a sliding barn door would look great. I just can't find a barn door I like that I can afford. Go get that one!

That would be pretty! I've had that third picture pinned on pinterest for a while. LOVE it! And I like the idea of having a window in it to let the light through. I know you'll get your hands on something cool...you always do! ;)

I love those old doors. I think the window one would make a great slider. I love the patina of the wood one and also the yellow one. I'm on another yellow kick lately.

I love barn doors too. Who's is that one anyway? I'm sure they wouldn't notice if it went missing in the night. :)

Where would one find the track for those?

I have always been facinated by these sliding doors. I have it in the back of my mind to use one on my ' forever' quilting studio. It would make an AWESOME design wall! maybe I need to stack a couple to cover up the fabric stash! I can see my husband rolling his eyes now!
