De-Christmasing

How was your Christmas? Mine was amazing.
Seriously the best day.
I got an awesome tripod,
(just like this one only black)
so you might not have to put up with wobbly photos anymore!
But as great as the gifts were, they were secondary to spending a wonderful day with my family.
Now all that's left is the annual
de-Christmasing.

When do you do that? Do you just do it whenever you get around to it, or do you do it on a specific day?

Thanks for reading!

I'll start Thursday and finish Friday. I like to relax New Year's Eve and start fresh New Year's Day with a clean house. Kathy

We went for a little hike..met up with friends, and went to a show..a different but lovely Christmas day..I always feel that Christmas is but one day..it is how you feel and are the rest of the year that is important as well..Your photos were always well done..but I am sure it will make a difference to you! how cute is your little Claire?

I didn't decorate this year (I got home on the 23rd and left again on the 27th) so my clean up consisted of taking the wrapping paper back to the basement. I missed the decorations but not the clean up.

What a great gift- a tripod! I don't de-Christmas until after the girls spend New Year's Eve here. We used to take down on the January 6th...but it kind of depends on what is going on. Happy Tuesday! xo Diana

I have mixed feelings about putting things away. In one respect, I want to rid the house of "clutter." But on the other hand- geez, I JUST got it up! LOL So, we'll see what transpires... One year the last tree got boxed up in March!

We don't Christmas up so we don't de-Christmas. This is something that my parents started when I was about 12.

I don't know which one I dislike most De-Christmasing or Christmasing. I'm just trying to get motivated to do everyday shores right now.

Glad to hear Christmas was wonderful!! Mine was too :)
As far as taking down the deco- I usually do it around the 1st. Some years I can't wait to take it down, this year however I actually don't want to.

Happy New Year!!

New Years Day is my day to pack the holiday away! I am looking forward to it and to jump in on some new projects around the house!

We aren't able to get our family together until Jan. 21!!! I'll be looking at Christmas stuff when it is a distant memory for everybody else. I may even have to vacuum the dust bunnies off of the tree.

On a normal year, I pack Christmas away on New Year's weekend.

Cool tripod! So glad you had a nice Christmas. I am always amazed how fast people put away the holiday decorations. I like to savor the calmness after the holiday. I wait until New Year's weekend or even the following week. It took me the better part of a week to decorate, so I'm in no rush to see it go!

I'll start putting it all away on New Year's day. Of course it will probably be piled on the table for at least a week after that, waiting for me to get the fragile stuff stored in the boxes.
I'll be thoroughly sick of it before I'm done!

We always leave ours up until the 12 days of Christmas are over. :-)

AWESOME!!! Tripods rule :) Sadly, I think I'm almost ready to start taking down the large trees now. I usually wait until Jan 6th, but I predict this season it will be much earlier.
