Not Picture Perfect

They almost look perfect, don't they?
The day after I took this picture, two of them on the bottom were rotten.
You can't always tell what's underneath.
Blogs tend to make everything look pretty. Everyone else's life seems to look better online. You don't see the piles of dirty laundry or the leaking faucets or all the real problems people face.

I think I've told you before that my husband holds an elected office.
It's an election year this year. Small town politics can be vicious, and this year is no exception. Lots of rotten pears.

So, I've been very distracted.
If I'm sometimes absent(or most of the time, to be honest. For some reason, I'm having a really hard time just brushing it all off like I have the other times.)or I don't respond to comments, I hope you'll forgive me.

Small towns can be rough! Remember...don't give them free rent in your head!!! Part of a quote from Pinterest:)

I am so sorry that you have to deal with the rotten apples in your basket...or the creeps in your town! I am saying a prayer for you, Suzanne, that things smooth out. Try to let it go...because when they control your emotions THEY win...and that is just what they are trying to do. I know, easier said than done. Blessings- xo Diana

Sadly I think this happens more than just "in politics"... it's just that it all comes out in the open during politics and campaigns. Didn't their mother teach them "if you can't say something nice don't say anything at all?"...

And we certainly have our share of the non perfect, leaky faucets, peeling floors, loose stair treads, lots of laundry, etc like every body else.... well except for perhaps Martha Stewart but I'm sure her life isn't perfect either....

Thinking about ya and hope all works out for you all,
Chris

Love the rotten pear analogy.....wishing you all the best with the election, and hoping the "best" pear wins :)

I think part of it is personality type. What another person might just laugh off, can keep me awake at night. I'm sure it's very difficult for you to turn it off when you are under public scrutiny. I hope the election goes well and you can put it behind you for a few more years.

thinking of you Suzanne, and hoping those rotten pears get tossed to the trash where they belong.
Deep breaths, and curl up with a good book to distract yourself.
No need to respond to this comment, take some time to yourself!

I've been thinking about that topic as well. I guess people want to put their best foot forward or they don't want to share the negative or personal stuff...but it just seems most blogs portray such happiness, success and positivism. I often wonder if I'm alone in my lows and doubt or troubles. You are not alone and please feel free to email me anytime just to vent if you want. Sometimes it's easier to let go when you don't physically know someone. So...here I am .....I hope your situation works itself out very quickly.

Hi! I saw you on Knock Off Decor and had to follow the link back to your blog because of the name...sure enough, the Meridian you speak of is in Idaho! I'm from Idaho - born in Boise, mostly grew up in Twin Falls. My mom now lives in Meridian. I too was an art major in college. I hope you'll follow me back at www.justhadabrightidea.blogspot.com. Nice to see another Idahoan in the blogosphere...doesn't happen too often!

Sometimes when I am making pictures for my blog, everything looks so much better than it really is. Viewed in another light on another day, everything looks all wrong and ugly. Life's like that.

We'll forgive you for being absent. Maybe you'll be able to forgive the rotten pears in the end too.

I give you so much credit for being willing to put up with all the #$%&@ that goes with running for public office. It must be a very exhausting and taxing experience. We'll be here when you decide to come back! I've been AWOL on my blog alot lately, but I can't blame it on politics. :(

I'm a little late catching up on my blog reading so I don't know if this stressor is still lurking.

I hope it has passed and everything turned out for the best. And you can be looking at this comment from an older post be like 'sure glad that's over'!

If the politics are still in it's volatile state, maybe your colorado trip can be a reminder about how precious life is with it's ups & downs and all.
